What is BioBran MGN-3?

BioBran MGN-3 is manufactured using the water-soluble dietary fiber (hemicellulose B), which constitutes about 5% of rice bran, as its main source. Rice bran hemicellulose B contains as principal ingredient Arabinoxylan, comprised of xylose and arabinose as its constitutive sugars, and has the features that its structure is included in a dietary fiber and it has a comparatively low molecular weight. Derivative, which possesses immunoregulatory properties was successfully developed by partially digesting the carbohydrate of shiitake mushroom mycelia. This is a rice bran Arabinoxylan derivative. BioBran advantages

Easily Absorbed
BioBran is very easily absorbed into the body through the normal processes of absorption in the intestines.

Fast Acting
BioBbran’s immune enhancing effects kick in in just a few days.

Non-Hyporesponsive
There is none of the effectiveness tail-off experienced with most other supplements. This means that BioBran can be very effective long-term.

Natural and GMO-Free
BioBran is a natural food supplement made from rice bran and the enzymes of the Shiitake mushroom. It is not a drug, a synthetic chemical or genetically modified.

Non-Toxic
BioBran has been clinically shown to be completely non-toxic, even in extremly high doses (intake scaled down by body weight).

Backed by Research
Arabinoxylan compound from rice bran has been (and continues to be) the focus of scientific and clinical research, in Japan, the USA and Europe.

High Quality Manufacturing
BioBran is manufactured to the exacting standards.

Functionality of BioBran MGN-3:

BioBran partially enters the blood undigested. Proteins are digested in the stomach and in the duodenum, to be converted into peptides and amino acids, which are then absorbed in the small intestine, entering the blood to become nutritional elements. Dextrin is also digested into oligosaccharides and dextrose ( glucose) and absorbed in the small intestine. BioBran is absorbed in the small intestine in undigested form and enters the blood to stimulate NK cells and macrophages. Passing through the large intestine, dietary fiber in contrast is excreted without being digested or absorbed.

NK cell activity

BioBran increases the activity of the lymphocytes – B cells,  T cells and especially NK (natural killer) cells. B cells produce antibodies whilst T and NK destroy virally or bacterially infected cells, and cells that have turned cancerous. A single NK cell can kill as many as 27 cancer cells in its lifetime.

FAQ about BioBran MGN-3

Q:What is the difference between an arabinoxylan derivative (BioBran) and naturally occurring arabinoxylan?
A:Arabinoxylans are common dietary fibers contained in such plants as rice, wheat and corn. BioBran is obtained from rice bran arabinoxylan by using enzymes extracted from shiitake mushrooms to reduce the molecular weight of the arabinoxylan, facilitating absorption into the body. BioBran has a lower molecular weight than naturally occurring arabinoxylan and because of this it can be partially absorbed through the small intestine.

Q: Can BioBran be taken together with other food?
A: BioBran is produced by hydrolyzing arabinoxylan, rice bran-derived water-soluble dietary fiber, with an enzyme from shiitake mushrooms. It is a natural material which does not contain any acid or alkali and is safe to take together with other foods or drugs.

Q:How is BioBran absorbed and metabolized in the body?
A: Biobran is not digested but is partially absorbed directly into the blood through the intestinal wall. It differs in this respect from most of the other things that we eat. Thus, protein is broken down into peptides and amino acids in the stomach and the duodenum, which are absorbed into the blood from the small intestine and function as nutrients. Starch is also digested into oligosaccharides and glucose and absorbed from the small intestine. On the other hand, ordinary dietary fibers are not digested or absorbed but are excreted from the large intestine. BioBran does not have to be broken down in the digestive process but can be partially absorbed directly into the blood from the small intestine to interact with NK cells and macrophages.

  1. MGN-3/BIOBRAN Enhances Generation of Cytotoxic CD8+ T Cells Via Upregulation of DEC-205 Expression on Dentritic Cells

Arabinoxylan rice bran (MGN—3/Biobran) has been shown to be a potent biological response modifier (BRM) that activates different arms of the immune system, including dendritic cells (DCs), which prime CD4+ helper T-cell responses. The present study explores the ability of MGN-3-activated DCs to prime CD8+ T cells and examines the mechanisms underlying its effect. Human monocyte-derived DCs were treated with MGN-3 (20 and 40 µg/ml). Results indicate that treatment with MGN-3 caused DCs to prime higher granzyme B-expressing CD8+ T cells. Tumor lysate-pulsed MGN-3 DC also increased tumor cell killing compared to DC-stimulated CD8+ T cells. This was associated with: i) increased expression of DEC-205 in MGN-3-activated DCs in a dose—dependent manner; and ii) MGN-3 induced significant production of Type III interferon, IL29, but not Type I IFNs on and B. These results suggest that MGN-3 is a potent natural adjuvant that efficiently activates DCs and may therefore be useful for mounting an efficient immune response against infections and cancer.
