Biobran

MGN-3 Arabinoxylan Compound

Overview :

BioBran® MGN-3 is a non-toxic glyconutritional nutrition supplement that has been sold in Japan and US for more than 10 years where it received a very positive customer response. According to some scientists, it is the most effective immune modulator available. Immunologists recommend BioBran for patients with cancer, before, during and after the chemotherapy and radiotherapy, for patients with viruses such as HIV, hepatitis, etc. BioBran could also reduce side effects of chemotherapy and radiation therapy, improving the patient's quality of life substantially.

BioBran is a nutrition supplement produced from rice bran. It is modified by shiitake mushroom enzyme to provide optimum absorption. Rich in Polysaccharides, Proteoglycans such as Arabinoxylan and other hemicelluloses, this natural compound helps the body to strengthen immune system and overall general health. BioBran is suitable for vegetarians and contains no Genetically Modified ingredients. For more information about BioBran see also www.biobran.org.

What is BioBran?:

BioBran is manufactured using the water-soluble dietary fiber (hemicellulose B), which constitutes about 5% of rice bran, as its main source. Rice bran hemicellulose B contains as principal ingredient Arabinoxylan, comprised of xylose and arabinose as its constitutive sugars, and has the features that its structure is included in a dietary fiber and it has a comparatively low molecular weight. Derivative, which possesses immunoregulatory properties was successfully developed by partially digesting the carbohydrate of shiitake mushroom mycelia. This is a rice bran Arabinoxylan derivative.( BioBran MGN-3 Guide Copyright Daiwa Pharmaceutical)There are following forms of BioBran:BioBran 1000 - granule powder in sachet. Functionality:

BioBran partially enters the blood undigested. Proteins are digested in the stomach and in the duodenum, to be converted into peptides and amino acids, which are then absorbed in the small intestine, entering the blood to become nutritional elements. Dextrin is also digested into oligosaccharides and dextrose ( glucose) and absorbed in the small intestine. BioBran is absorbed in the small intestine in undigested form and enters the blood to stimulate NK cells and macrophages. Passing through the large intestine, dietary fiber in contrast is excreted without being digested or absorbed.

FAQ:

Q:What is the difference between an arabinoxylan derivative (BioBran) and naturally occurring arabinoxylan?
A:Arabinoxylans are common dietary fibers contained in such plants as rice, wheat and corn. BioBran is obtained from rice bran arabinoxylan by using enzymes extracted from shiitake mushrooms to reduce the molecular weight of the arabinoxylan, facilitating absorption into the body. BioBran has a lower molecular weight than naturally occurring arabinoxylan and because of this it can be partially absorbed through the small intestine.

Q: Can BioBran be taken together with other food?
A: BioBran is produced by hydrolyzing arabinoxylan, rice bran-derived water-soluble dietary fiber, with an enzyme from shiitake mushrooms. It is a natural material which does not contain any acid or alkali and is safe to take together with other foods or drugs.

Q:How is BioBran absorbed and metabolized in the body?
A: Biobran is not digested but is partially absorbed directly into the blood through the intestinal wall. It differs in this respect from most of the other things that we eat. Thus, protein is broken down into peptides and amino acids in the stomach and the duodenum, which are absorbed into the blood from the small intestine and function as nutrients. Starch is also digested into oligosaccharides and glucose and absorbed from the small intestine. On the other hand, ordinary dietary fibers are not digested or absorbed but are excreted from the large intestine. BioBran does not have to be broken down in the digestive process but can be partially absorbed directly into the blood from the small intestine to interact with NK cells and macrophages.
